My name is Karl Allen Swelling,
and I am a Southern Baptist Christian
and a member of Fairfield Highlands Baptist Church.
My profession is systems administration,
spending most of my time with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and IBM AIX,
though I have been a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer
in Windows NT 4,
a Certified Novell Engineer in NetWare 5 and IntranetWare,
and a Master Certified Novell Engineer in NetWare/Windows
integration in the past.
My primary interest is in using free
(as in "freedom") Unix-like
operating systems in the enterprise, and more specifically,
using RHEL and Fedora for firewalls, intrusion detection,
web proxies, web content filters, antivirus mail relays,
name services, and system monitoring.
I also like to keep up-to-date
on the SCO news via Groklaw.net
and the Boglehead discussions via Diehards.org.
